If he hadn't died, John Milton would be old.

Happy 400th Birthday, John Milton.  (insert joke about candles and fire department here)

Milton was a remarkable poet, rare for the simple fact that today’s reader can enjoy his writing.  Even I -an English teacher- admit that a lot of the old guys and gals are just dull.

I read this sonnet to my students a few months ago.  It makes me thankful for Milton and his God-focused view of life.
