5 O'Clock Club

This is one post I would rather keep to myself.  Oh man… what am I doing?5 o'clock

I was reading today on Girltalk (a blog I recently found – so encouraging!) about a lady who joined what they called the 5 am club.

I knew I shouldn’t click on the link. I just knew I would be uncomfortable with what I found… I was right.

Recently I have been struggling to have regular time in the Word and in prayer.  Also, it’s been increasingly hard to keep all the housework done.  It seems like at least one of the kiddos has been sick  for my entire history as a mom.  They haven’t had good naptimes, which means that I get very little done before bedtime. I’m exhausted by the end of the night when I finally get caught up.

During days like that how am I supposed to read my bible?  I mean, really?

So, when I read about the 5 o’clock club I knew I needed to at least try it… (Deep breath…) It’s just a way to remember to start your day with the Word, and to start it earlier than your family – so you can serve them (without grumbling and complaining).

All this to say that I’m setting my alarm for 5 o’clock tomorrow morning and I’m setting my coffee pot for 5:15am.  I’m going to get up and take a shower, grab my coffee and my bible and get ready for the day. (Lord willing).

Feel free to ask me how it’s going in a week or so. 🙂

Here’s hoping!
