In the last few weeks, we’ve been able to celebrate a lot of milestones in our extended family. My little sister turned 16 at the end of July, my parents celebrated their wedding anniversary, my big sister turned 29, my grandparents celebrated 64 (!) years of marriage, and today my dad turned 51. I am so thankful for these people.
At the same time, there is now a tinge a sadness with each of these events. In all likelihood, we won’t be in the States to celebrate any of these events next year. We’re reminded that taking the Gospel overseas isn’t just a costly change in our lives, but in many other lives as well.
This morning I am thankful for these lives and the reminder that life is a vapor.
