Happy Birthday, Cora Jewel!

Today, Cora turned four.

What a big number for a girl we almost lost just a few weeks into her life due to RSV and pneumonia. She’s been a fighter since then, making up for her wobbly beginning with more strength (of spirit and body) than we expect.

Cora is beautiful and observant. She loves her family and friends. I’m honored to be her daddy, to get her sweet kisses on my cheek, to take her on dates, to answer her questions, and share with her my hope in life.

I love this little girl. I’m thankful for these four years and looking forward to so many more.

Some verses we have framed by Cora’s bed.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. {Romans 15:13}

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. {Matthew 11:28-30}
